Just seen El Cantante for the millionth time. I’m a proud Puertorriquena from Brooklyn. I went to my first nightclub in 1970, me being all of 17 years old. Club was over a travel agency and the elevated J train ran beside the building. I believe this was just before Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe and Fania took off like a rocket. But these legends to be were playing at this little neighborhood club. After they finished a set, I saw Hector at the end of the bar. I developed a mad crush on him at that moment. I was... Read more

There are alot of Singers and performers. In my book no one has taken the kings place. His sound was one of a kind. He will live forever!!!!
