Just seen El Cantante for the millionth time. I’m a proud Puertorriquena from Brooklyn. I went to my first nightclub in 1970, me being all of 17 years old. Club was over a travel agency and the elevated J train ran beside the building. I believe this was just before Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe and Fania took off like a rocket. I was too shy and never approached him but am so happy that I got to dance my heart out as Willie and Hector played live.... Collapse
