I was 6 y/o living in Newark NJ In 1972 and distinctively remember my dad who was also a salsero bring home the FIRST Salsa vinyl record I ever listened too, it was Willie Colon & Hector Lavoe! -El Juicio- Me and my three other brothers would play replay and dance circles around the living room with that album alone. Ever since then I was hooked. RIP Hector, and know this! No one ever will be able to fill your shoes! From 1967 until present no one has stopped listening to you sing our favorite melodies.
