Mi muy grato agradecimiento por poder ser parte de la familia. Me nutri de esta musica de joven, ahora es parte de mi psiqui. Humildemente traigo a este altar un amor profundo lleno de compasion por lo que vivio este sencillo y a la vez complicado hombre, cuyo talento nos dio como homenaje un nuevo genero de musica. Back in 1967 when I bought my very first two albums,Johnny Colon's 'Boogaloo Blues' & 'El Malo' by Willie & Hector,I was hooked for life,with the unrestrained/powerfully virile,uniquely urban latino music coming from my small suitcase record player.What Willie & Hector,along with Eddie Palmieri,& the entire Fania family did to highten & further develope, 'Cuban Son/Mambo',into the 'Salsa'phenomenon that shook the world is the core that legends are made of.Que viva la musica.

Hector con sus canciones me alzo en tiempos malos, me acompaña cada vez que me siento triste para lebamtarmer la moral y seguir adelante ! alejate de mi no te quiero mas !! gracias a el he podido olvidar e podido ser el que soy ! si no fueran por sus canciones que cada vez que la escucho y no me canso de escuchare su misma cancion mil veces mas..!!! evaluo cada palabra porque cada palabra tiene su significado. Hector in his time was like no other in that he could sing from the heart what he truly felt. In that essence his songs were pure in heart and his audience truly loved him for that. Personally I admired him for his courage and strength to press on for the love of his music and Latino people. Today I miss him dearly but I have his music to press on too and carry me when times are tough. Then again like Hector us Puerto Ricans never stop giving and loving others.
