I hadn't heard of Hector Lavoe or Puchi before El Cantante. I am so glad this story was brought to the big screen. I love it. The music. The emotion. I just requested Aguanile at a Mexican restaurant 2 days ago. It's sad the way entertainers live end so tragically. That kinda scares me as a passionate singer myself. May Lavoe's music continue 2 forever inspire!!! God bless

I would like to pay my utmost tribute to the legend, el cantante de los cantantes, el grande Hector Lavoe! I'm the current Ambassador of the Republic of Somalia to the United Nations Office at Geneva. On the late 70's - early 80's during my college time in Bologna(Italy)I had the privilege to become close friend to many students from different Latin American countries. Thanks to them I have been initiated to their rich culture. The music is the best bridge between people, especially among the youngsters. Thanks to them the magnificent salsa music become very popular in the college.... Read more
