Gracias Hector for all the joy you brought to so many people to include myself. I was in the muilitary for 20 years and far away from home I always felt close to home as long as I had ("The Boys of Swing" the name I gave to Hector and Willie). Gracias always. Ben

Hector was truly gifted by God but had little discipline over his life. He could have been still with us had he had a bit more self control. Believe me I know for I too suffered because of lack of discipline... Much love to allbrothers and sisters.

I hadn't heard of Hector Lavoe or Puchi before El Cantante. I am so glad this story was brought to the big screen. I love it. The music. The emotion. I just requested Aguanile at a Mexican restaurant 2 days ago. It's sad the way entertainers live end so tragically. That kinda scares me as a passionate singer myself. May Lavoe's music continue 2 forever inspire!!! God bless
