When Hector died,man,i felt something in my soul like as if it was lifted then put back.I felt great pain in my heart and i said to myself"hector why?...Why have you left us so soon"Your not finish here yet!But it was to late,the toll of his aids desease had grab him and did'nt let him go.I felt so sad that day.I went to the funeral with some friends of mine.I saw him for about 3 seconds,i said to him"hector te quiero mucho,que dios te bendiga.Then we all left......R.I.P.

I just watched a true life drama movie on Hector and i must say I am so touched.Great talented man,but the troubles of the world caught up with him.May his soul rest in peace...

En esta vida tuve la oportunidad de ver a Los mejores de siempre como a Michael Jordan,m.ali,Howard stern,Tito puente,giovani hidalgo,babe Ruth pero entre todos estos grandiosos no hay nadie pero nadie mas grande que hector lavoe no pasa un dia que yo no cante una cancion del,lo digo con mucho respeto a todos Los muchachos de la fania.

I completely relate to "El Cantante" in so many levels, everytime I play it, it brings tears to my eyes. The musical arrangements, the words, and above all, his voice and the feeling he put singing it. He projected exactly what this song meant, no disrespect to the composer, Mr. Ruben Blades, musical genius.

Alguien tiene que abrir el "Hector Lavoe Cafe" o algo asi para que exista un lugar para juntarnos y poder sentar un rato en su esencia para sentir su ser y su tremendo sentido humano, su gran alma que por la turbulencia y amor que ilumino en su camino compartio con el mundo. Termine su biografia hace unos meses y los escenarios de su vida me siguen apareciendo en todo. Solo Jerry Garcia creo captaba en el mismo instante tan fuerte, profunda felicidad y tristeza en sus versos simultaneamente. Ese es el genio de Lavoe que nos brinda con su memoria y su ser.
